Mark and Steve were back at Griffith University’s Gold Coast Campus last week conducting an evacuation exercise at the impressive Ian O’Connor Building.

The 10-storey building has a fully operational public dental clinic, health & psychology clinics as well as teaching, learning and research laboratories.

With the guidance of the Fire EMT instructors, one Chief Warden and 18 Wardens, evacuated approximately 200 people. Needless to say it was quite a logistical feat to coordinate!

The exercise highlighted the importance of establishing access control with such a large number of people. Everyone did a great job and now feel well prepared for what they need to do in the case on an emergency.
